MailHops API just got a little more secure with HTTPS!

It’s a three step process but pretty simple. Heres how to update Thunderbird and Postbox.

  1. Download the root certificate from CACert.
  2. Install the root certificate to Thunderbird or Postbox
  3. Change MailHops hosting option to use https

1. Download the root certificate

2. Install the root cert

  1. Preferences -> Advanced -> Certificates -> View Certificates
  2. Click import
  3. Select root.crt file downloaded from above
  4. Check the trust checkboxes

3. Change MailHops hosting option within preferences

  1. Tools -> Add-ons -> MailHops -> Preferences
  2. Go to the Hosting tab
  3. Click yes I agree
  4. Enter: https://api.mailhops.com
  5. Click test
  6. Click OK to save
